// BACK IN FL

//

The majority of my projects were pushed back and put on hold due to the pandemic. When CKD’s first rug capsule collection with CB2 launched in 2020 I remember feeling like things were moving fast. There was so much lined up with so much to do - and then all of a sudden the whole world stopped. Over the last two years I’ve been slowly building CKD the brand. Putting in the hours and keeping up with a routine on the days that felt slow and quiet. All of the projects that were put on pause are finally ready to open. Things are starting to feel like they did this time two years ago, but I feel more centred and ready. I’ve built a strong foundation, joined a showroom for all of my top selling prints (more of that to come), and I love what CKD has organically evolved into. Most importantly I cut out the time and space to get to know myself better. This process is humbling and uncomfortable - but I’ve gained so much, and learned things about myself that have only helped me better believe in myself. There is nothing more liberating than deciding something for yourself by yourself. Entering 2022 with a clear and calm mind has been one of the most beautiful feelings. I feel mentally prepared for the next phase in my life. Excited for what is next!!

// 199 CHURCH STREET

//

CKD hoarding on Church Street! This project was a lot of fun. Happy to work with Centre Court on this project. Here are some photos of life lately. With the lockdowns in Ontario I’ve consumed myself with work. There are fun projects opening in the next couple months, it is keeping things interesting. Other than that, life is feeling a little lifeless. Looking forward to a change in scenery. Anyways, hi! hope you’re enjoying the weekend.

// HAPPY NEW YEAR

//

I did things differently this past year. But I wanted different for myself and for my company. The result was change like I have never experienced before, while having more fun than I have had in a very long time. I am bringing this energy with me in 2022.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE 🥳Thankful for all the new friendships, beautiful collaborations, very hard lessons, found truths and opportunities of 2021

// NOTES FROM ICANDI

//

Notes from my first blog. Five years of writing, photos and videos. I have spent the last couple days going through all of them, slowly remembering bits and pieces of my life. These are some moments and thoughts that stood out to me. I am so happy I documented the process. It’s been a wild ride.

// HOME SWEET HOME

//

Nothing better than landing to snow for the holidays. My time in Florida was busy but so much fun. Brittany from House Of One and I did a shoot last Friday celebrating our newest capsule collection. We were in the middle of an interview when I realized how much my life has changed in just 8 months. I love the group of people I have met while spending time in Miami.

I often find myself making excuses for how hard it is to make new friends at 33. The truth is, it’s not. It’s easy, and easier to tell the difference between people who are and are not aligned. The secret is to put yourself out there. Join a gym, join a class - do something you have never done before. Anatomy gym in Miami changed my life, not just with my fitness, but I slowly built a community of people I feel are like me. I flew home this holiday feeling so thankful for this life and the people I get to share it with. In the end that’s all that really matters - in business and in personal. You are sum of the people you surround yourself with - choose wisely.

Miami never disappoints. I’m still here, projects came up and it was easier to stay and deal with everything here than to go home. House Of One x CKD collection has launched, Brittany threw a fab Art Basel party. Here are some photos from Design Miami. Virgil was everywhere. Still not over that fact that he is gone. I’ve looked up to him and his craft from the beginning, he was sort of a pillar of reassurance for me - that anything was possible. I looked forward to everything he did. His perspective. The design world feels like there is something missing.

One more week of crazy and I’m closing down CKD for the holiday. What a wild couple months, things picked up at a wild speed over the past two months. Ready to zone out, lay horizontal on my couch and watch love movies.
